Location: Fisantekraal Urban Life Center

Activity breakdown:

Day 1: Preparing, and painting 2 walls and a fence. Sanding down a jungle gym and painting it at the won life clinic.

Day 2: Ran a 7 a side soccer tournament, the winning team was presented with certificates at the prize giving. After lunch children were coached on how to play chess.

Day 3: Was an anti Aids day, made colorful posters, and presented skits on why you should not litter and played games with children.

Day 4: Anti Litter day: Children were taught not to litter and they organized a litter campaign all children attending were given black bags and they helped the scouts collect all the litter laying around the community center filling a fantastic 10 full bags of litter.

Day 5: Organized a fun day with local children, games and party packets donated by city of Cape Town.

Day’s Plans in detail:

Day 1 - Monday

7: 30-Meet the team at the scout hall, collect indemnity forms

8.00-Arrive at wonlife, introduce the team to the staff of wonlife and hold a team breifing.

8:30 – Finalise our art work for flyers and print –Flyers to advertize the weeks activities (aids campaign, soccer day and Litter pick up) , these will be handed out at clinic run by Wonlife)

9:30 – Receive/fetch the equipment needed for the days activities. Supplied by Wonlife

10:10 – Prepare outside area where we will paint, masking tape, paper etc

10:30 – Start painting

12:00 – clean up

12:30 – Lunch

13:00 – Wash inside wall where kids have drawn

13:30 - Prepare wall for painting, paper ect

14:00 – Paint wall

15:30 – Clean up

15:45 – pack painting equipment away

16:00 – mom will collect us and take us back to hall

16:30 – Parents collect from hall

Day 2 – Tuesday

8.00-Arrive at wonlife, Collect necessary equipment, travel to community centre Equipment from Wonlife

8:30 – Register teams for junior soccer – name and age maximun 28 children . Put children into four teams for 7 a side soccer.

9:00 – 2 teams play A & B

9:20 – half time, oranges I will supply for day one pocket R30

9:25 – 2nd half

9:45 – end 2nd half, break, frozen bunny licksI will supply 4 packet for day @ R3 a bag- R12

10:00 – 2 teams play C&D

10:20 – half time, oranges

10:25 – 2nd half

10:45 – end 2nd half, break, frozen bunny licks

11:00 – 2 teams play Winners play

11:20 – half time, oranges

11:25 – 2nd half

11:45 – end 2nd half, break, frozen bunny licks

12:00 – Hand out Certificates to winning team

12:15 - Lunch

12:30 - Registration for seniors

13:00 – 2 teams play A & B

13:20 – half time, oranges

13:25 – 2nd half

14:00 – 2 teams play C&D

15:00 – 2 teams play Winners play

15:45 – Hand out Certificates to winning team, pack up, load vehicle, travel to won life

16:00 – mom fetch up and travel back to hall

Day 3: Wednesday

7: 30-Meet the team at the scout hall, collect indemnity forms

8.00-Arrive at wonlife, Collect necessary equipment, travel to community centre

8:30 – All children who played soccer would have been invited to help with the fun clean up. Organise children in to teams and explain that the team with the most litter collected is going to receive a reward.

9:00 – Clean up begins in side community area, clinic, soccer field and libuary areas

11:00 – Collect bags judge and reward winners, give children bunny licks and, trying to find sun peaks anti litter to be donated I will buy 2 bags of bunny licks @ R3 a bag R6

11:30 – Talk by me on Pollution and anti litter

12:00 – Lunch

12:30 – Start general gardening , weeding or what ever else gardener needs us to help with

14:30 – clean up, load vehicle,travel back to Wonlife centre

15:00 – Meeting about aids awareness day tomorrow- final arrangements pack stuff ready

16:00 – Mom collect us and take us back to scout hall

Day 4: Thursday

7: 30-Meet the team at the scout hall, collect indemnity forms

8.00-Arrive at wonlife, Collect necessary equipment, travel to community centre

8:30 – Set up tables for display, blow up balloons etc – All supplied by Wonlife

9:00 – Greet local community members at clinic, and chat etc, explaining what we are doing here

12:30 – lunch

Day 5 - Friday

9: 00 – Registration, first 20 junior children – divided into 2 for team games Aeroplanes (2X buckets, news paper)

1. Pig face (2X bowls, 2X packets of sour worms,3kg flour )

2. Bench volley ball (8X benches, 20X ballons)

3. Bridges (4X bean bags)

4. Crab soccer (2X soccer balls)

6. Open gates

9:20 - Aeroplanes

9:40 – Ladders

10: 00 – pig face

10:20- Bench volley ball

10:40 – tea break

11:00 – Crab soccer

11:20 – open gates

11:40 – Bridges

12:00 – Thank children for coming

12:15 - lunch

12 :30 – Registration first 20 senior children into 4 groups

13:00 – learn how to set up a chess board, learn the names of the pieces All scouts will bring a chess board along that day

13:00 – learn some basic rules

13:00 – attempt to play one group against another

13:00 – those that show potentional, set up to play a game others play on finger boards and other games that community hall is equiped with

15:30 – tidy up, thank everyone travel back to wonlife centre

16:00 – Mom collect us and travel back to hall.
